[Abbreviated] Artwork Agreement

This Artwork Agreement (the "Agreement") is made between ___________________________ ("Band"), and ______________________ ("Artist"). 

Services. Artist agrees to perform the following services and create the following artwork (the "Art"): _______________________________________.

The Art shall be completed by the following date: _________________
During the process, Artist shall keep the Band informed of work in progress and shall furnish test prints of the Art prior to completion.

Payment. Band agrees to pay Artist $ _______ as follows:
___________________________________ for performance of the art services and acquisition of the rights provided below.

Rights. Artist assigns to the Band all copyright to the Art and agrees to cooperate in the preparation of any documents necessary to demonstrate this assignment of rights. Artist retains the right to display the work as part of artist's portfolio and to reproduce the artwork in connection with the promotion of artist's services.

Expenses. Band agrees to reimburse Artist for all reasonable production expenses including halftones, stats, photography, disks, illustrations or related costs. These expenses shall be itemized on invoices and in no event shall any expense exceed $50 without approval from the Band.

Credit. Credit for Artist shall be included on reproductions of the Art as follows:

Artist Warranties. Artist warrants that the Art shall not infringe any intellectual property rights or violate any laws.

Mediation; Arbitration. If a dispute arises under this Agreement, the parties agree to first try to resolve the dispute with the help of a mutually agreed upon mediator in ________________________. Any costs and fees other than attorney fees shall be shared equally by the parties. If it proves impossible to arrive at a mutually satisfactory solution, the parties agree to submit the dispute to binding arbitration in the same city or region, conducted on a confidential basis pursuant to the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association.
